It regretted the material and financial sacrifices that may have been made, especially by those who travelled across the country to perform their civic duties before the sudden cancellation of the exercise. While commending local and foreign observers for keeping faith in the nation and its development, Kupa urged the youths to eschew violence and vices that could endanger the country’s democracy. The NBM leader cautioned politicians and stakeholders in the electoral process against inciting remarks and violent conduct before, during and after the elections. He added that the relevant bodies would have learnt one or two lessons from the situation to avoid future occurrences. Also, the Initiative for Credible Elections (ICE) said the invitation of some INEC commissioners by the Directorate of State Services (DSS) over the postponed elections smacks of intimidation.
